Editorial Policy

This page explains where Animal Hub Planet's information comes from, what we will not publish, and what happens when a reader shows us we are wrong.

Independence

No optics manufacturer, feed supplier, tour operator or retailer has any interest in this site. No article is sponsored and there are no affiliate links.

Sourcing

We work from the published material of national ornithological organisations and university research institutions. Each article closes with the organisations behind it, linked to their main pages rather than to deep URLs.

Regional accuracy

Bird distribution differs enormously by continent, and a site published in three languages is read in places with very different avifauna. Where a statement is regional, we say so. Where we give a species as an example, it is chosen because the principle it illustrates travels, not because the same bird occurs everywhere.

What we will not publish

• Precise nest locations, or advice that would lead a reader to disturb a nest.
• Anything that encourages taking wild birds out of the wild.
• Feeding advice that ignores hygiene, or that presents contested practice as settled.
• Product recommendations and sponsored placements.

Corrections

Send the article title and the correction through the contact page. We aim to reply within three business days. Substantive corrections change the article and the date at its foot, and the change is described. Nothing is deleted quietly.

Updates

Articles are reviewed when the guidance behind them is revised, or when a reader reports that something no longer holds in their region.

Advertising

None at present and no affiliate income. If that changes it will be labelled, separated from the editorial content, and announced here first.
